Message of the Month
International Ministries Page
Rev. William C. Linn came to know Christ on April 2, 1975 while serving in the United States Air Force. After conversion
he sensed a leading to prepare for the ministry. After attending Southeastern College in preparation for the ministry, Bro.
Linn served as pastor of 3 churches. In the Late 80's God propelled him into evangelistic ministry. Harvest Renewal
Ministries Incorporated is a non-denominational ministry founded in the early 90's.  Incorporated in 1997

Recently I was posting a piece on my sisters Face Book page in response to her
prayer/comment on Romans 8:1,2.  I remember years ago, preaching on that
entire paricope, and thought I would share some notes with her from my studies.

Paul said Romans 8:1,2 KJV ( I had done all my memory work in that version,
although I love other translations.
)  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the
mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable
unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this
world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove
what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Take into
consideration what the passage means!!

It is God infinite desire, to by every and all means  communicate Himself to us!

Paul in the opening clause of these verses makes that implicitly clear by his
choice of words, he says I beseech you.  The word beseech in the Greek is
parakalevw, transliterated Parakaleo - which means call to ones side, call upon,
by those means to include instruction, teaching, admonitions, strengthening,
comforting, encouragements, consolations,  striving for appeasement,
pleading, even to the point of begging. WOW!!!

And what is it that God is trying to communicate?

His desire and message is that we be intimate with Him. God is not interested so
much with our religious duties, as He is with our intimate relationship.  The
word - Greek -parivsthmi - transliterated - Paristemi which we read as "present"
means  that we;
proffer, provide, place a person or thing at one's disposal, to present a person
for another to see and question, to present or show,  to bring to, bring near,
metaph. i.e to bring into one's fellowship or intimacy, to present (show) by
argument, to prove, to stand beside, stand by or near, to be at hand, be present
,to stand by, to stand beside one, a bystander, to appear, to be at hand, stand
ready, to stand by to help, to succour, to be present, to have come, of time. So
we understand that Paul is saying God is calling, drawing, us along side in a
time to become intimate.

The intimacy is to be pure, holy, clean, a sacrifice. What Israelite would have
brought an unclean, less then whole sacrifice to God?  It would have been
unheard of, unacceptable to bring a lamb that was blemished, less then
spotless as a sacrifice. I know that my time of intimacy with God has been "less
then perfect" It has been rushed, full of demands, or at best a religious form at
times.  Is that acceptable?

It is a reasonable service. An act of worship. I found that we get our word
worship from the old English which means worth-ship.  What is God worth? Of
our time, talent and treasure? To some He is not worth much. The time we
spend is not quality or quantity, the talents we offer are those we can spare and
our money? Oh we dare not infringe on that area.  Yet God is doing all He can,
to convince us that we need to be intimate in every way with Him.

Be not conformed!!! But transformed. I like to say, "don't let the devil hammer
you, and the world press you into shape, you will only be bent out of shape"
don't let it squeeze you into it's mold, but.....Let God, as we are intimate and
He communes with us during that time of intimacy, let Him mold you, make you
into a pleasing vessel, worthy of His presence!!!
