She is a former "madam" and he a former pimp; but together Prakash and Smita (names have been changed) are a
testimony of the saving power of Jesus Christ. In fact, her ministry today is in the red light district of this city, ministering
with first hand knowledge of the intricate maze of circuitous paths represented in this notorious area.  Though the love and
acceptance of our congregation, this couple has blossomed; and Smita will never leave church without a hug, shyly waiting
her turn, if need be, until others surrounding our missionary family have thinned out.  

About a month ago, Smita's sister had a stroke which took her life; but before her death, Smita was able to pray the
sinners prayer with her.  Because the sister publicly acknowledged that she accepted Jesus, the family wanted to give her a
Christian burial; and, because Smita and Prakash attend the church, the congregation was asked to be involved.

Two days later, on a monsoon flooded Monday evening, our missionaries met at the couples apartment for a family
memorial service.  What should have been a 30 minute trip, took two hours, when they finally arrived, Prakash met them
on a side road and they walked the 1/4th mile between houses, shops and down lanes that afforded no privacy an little
shelter from the pouring rains. All were drenched by the downpour. As the climbed the steep stairs they were greeted by a
room full of people from all walks of life who have been touched  by the ministry of this couple.  Some of these are
outcasts even by the church.  

Our missionaries were rewarded with a request by the unsaved family member to pray with them!!! What a wonderful
testimony of this restored couple, and the saving power of our Lord who wants all to come to a knowledge of His love
and life, regardless of background!!! PTL!!!!!
